Geoff Keighley Suggests Summer Game Fest Attendees ‘Manage Their Expectations’ by Focusing on Announced Games.

According to Geoff Keighley, he is aware of the rampant speculation about Summer Game Fest and its imminent announcements in the gaming world. Because of this, he took some time to inform the audience that they shouldn’t anticipate anything earth-shaking from this program, which isn’t on the same level as the Game Awards. The irony isn’t lost on us, either, in this instance.

At this weekend’s Twitter Spaces audio session (transcribed by VGC), Keighley expressed his excitement for the show’s programming, which he described as including “huge games” alongside indie titles and fresh companies exhibiting their ideas for the first time. Keighley, on the other hand, cautioned spectators to “adjust their expectations” in light of this specific performance.

More than 20 partners have been revealed thus far for Summer Game Fest 2022.

I’m eagerly looking forward to this weekend because I finally get to see the things we’ve spoken about for months. Obviously, we’ve made a lot of announcements and world premieres since I last spoke to you guys about the show’s upcoming events.

So we’re doing some excellent things for you, but be sure to keep your expectations in check when it comes to megaton shocks. Despite the name, this is not the video game industry’s annual awards show. We’ve got a lot to show you but beware of some of the ridiculous stories I’m hearing out there about what people anticipate to hear about during the convention.

In the lead-up to the Summer Game Fest, several startling revelations have been made, of course. This year’s Call of Duty, Resident Evil 4, and other titles from Bethesda and Xbox will be showcased at E3, among other things, so keep an eye out.

Geoff Keighley also spoke about how the program will feature Xbox-exclusive titles and how they would save their major hitters for this showcase, both of which were mentioned before. He also said that, while Nintendo has not made it obvious whether or not they would participate in the Fest, they would be pleased to have them participating when they are ready. Nintendo has yet to make this explicit.
