September 2022 Nintendo Direct: Biggest Games, Announcements

Nintendo’s September 13 Nintendo Direct was packed with big and small announcements from first-party and third-party studios. We didn’t hear about the expected Metroid Prime remaster or ports of Twilight Princess or Wind Waker, but what we did hear was impressive.

We’re getting new Fire Emblem and Pikmin games, a remake of a famous Kirby game, and a sequel to Octopath Traveler. GoldenEye and Pokemon Stadium are coming to Nintendo Switch Online, and Radiant Silvergun was released today.

The greatest news was Tears of the Kingdom’s release date and a new name. Superfans will examine every frame of the Breath of the Wild 2 gameplay clip for weeks.

Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was Nintendo Direct’s biggest game. The sequel to Breath of the Wild will contain huge floating buildings from which Link can parachute and glide. All will be disclosed next year. Tears of the Kingdom debut for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023, six years after its predecessor.

FE Engage

Fire Emblem Engage is a multiverse collision tactical RPG. Set after a millennium of peace, it was announced during Nintendo Direct. As a Divine Dragon, you lead the charge and can “Engage” with prior Fire Emblem heroes, like March. The Divine Edition of Fire Emblem Engage will be launched on January 20, 2023.

Octopath 2

Octopath Traveler on Switch started Square Enix’s HD-2D fever in 2018, and a sequel is coming in 2019. Octopath Traveler 2 introduces eight new characters whose stories traverse Solistia. Day and night affect character actions, and trains and other technologies modernise the globe. Dancer, Warrior, Merchant, Scholar, Thief, Cleric, Hunter, and Apothecary are all back from the original game. Octopath Traveler 2 releases on Switch on February 23, 2023.

Final Bar Theatrhythm

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line seems to be one of the franchise’s most ambitious titles. With 385 tracks from across the Final Fantasy series, it lets you experience the games in a new way. It supports local two-player games and four-player competitive battles, and 90 additional paid DLC tracks from SaGa, Nier, Octopath, and Live a Live are coming. 16 February 2023 on Nintendo Switch.

N64 games

Does the switch lack Nintendo 64 games? This year and 2023 bring more. Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass users can play Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Mario Party 3, Pilotwings 64, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, 1080 Snowboarding, and Excitebike 64. The first two Mario Party games and Pilotwings will be released in 2022. GoldenEye will have online play, although its release date is unknown.

Pikmin 4 is coming because Shigeru Miyamoto likes them. The game was unveiled with a short teaser during Nintendo Direct, which showed the new Pikmin-level perspective but no gameplay. Miyamoto said the Switch makes controlling everything easier, so you can focus more on strategic decisions. 2023.

We received a new peek at Bayonetta 3 during Nintendo Direct. It laid the stage for the game’s story, which features a heroic witch fighting artificial bioweapons. Luka, Jeanne, and Viola join her on her journey. Nintendo released a “Ways of the Witch” trailer for Bayonetta 3 on YouTube.

Evil resident

Resident Evil 7 will broadcast on Switch. Resident Evil Village Cloud is available on other platforms and PC, and a free demo is accessible on the eShop today. Winters’ Expansion DLC offers new story content and a third-person mode on December 2. Along with Village, Switch will get cloud versions of Resident Evil 7 and remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3.

Kirby’s Dream Land Deluxe

Crisis Core FF7 Reunion

Crisis Core The Nintendo Direct revealed Final Fantasy VII: Reunion’s release date. This remastered PSP game releases on December 13. It’s a faithful recreation of the PSP game’s events, with a new fighting system and aesthetics that equal the current Final Fantasy VII remake. Zack Fair, Cloud Strife, and Sephiroth will appear.

Nintendo Switch

Holiday brings the third round of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass tracks. Wave 3 includes Merry Mountain and Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS. The bundle is included in Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass and will be sold separately in the Switch eShop.
